Building Knowledge Series: The Future of Finance and the Finance Function

Fantastic turnout last night for the first Building Knowledge series event for 2019 organised by our SA Corporate Sector Advisory Panel where all things The Future of Finance and the Finance Function were discussed.

Great job by our advisory panel members for putting together a fantastic event. Special thank you to our guest speakers Anthony Neilson, Anthony Stewart and Jarrod Thorn for sharing your insights and to our fabulous host Kristen Raison for facilitating the panel discussion.

Strategies for Success Series: Your Career and the Future of Work – are you ready?

This event featured a diverse panel of business professionals sharing their insights on how they've set themselves up for success in their careers and how they're adapting to meet the disruption posed by the future of work.

Key take aways from this event included:

  • don't underestimate the importance of selling - think about your personal brand - seek out a mentor
  • invest time in yourself
  • sieze opportunities when they present
  • the importance of leaders to invest in the next generation
  • adding-value through storytelling.

South Australian Members' Forum

This event presented a fantastic opportunity for our SA/NT Regional Council to connect with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand members and share their plans to raise the profile of its members as difference makers in the region and get feedback on what more we could be doing.

Building Knowledge Series: Future-proof Your Practice and Stay Relevant for the Future

Members had the opportunity to hear from 3 very diverse perspectives at our Building Knowledge - Future Proof your Practice and Stay Relevant for the Future event. At the heart of the conversation was addressing how accounting firms can practically respond to truly shift from being compliance-focused.

Some of the key take aways from this session included:

  • the power of champions for change
  • taking your clients on the journey
  • capitalising on the power of the cloud and automation
  • sometimes you need to set your own path
  • careers will continue to develop at break-neck speed
  • service will still be "King".

This 9 part series is designed for anyone who is a leader, looking to become a leader or has been leading people and needs to broaden their leadership skills and remit. Learn about yourself and how you are perceived in the workplace and externally. Discover ways to negotiate through the mist and 'the how too' with leading people in the good times and the not so good. The first session of this series commences on Tuesday 7 May 2019.

Deepening Client Relationships Program

The Deepening Client Relationship Program is designed to further develop and equip candidates, early-career members and other business professionals earlier in their careers with the right skill set to support their career progression.

The Future Leadership Development Program is designed for anyone who is a leader, looking to become a leader or has been leading people and would like to broaden their leadership skills and remit.
