Building Knowledge Series - From Service Provider to Trusted Advsior

Public practitioners know they need to provide more than compliance services. High value, commercial advisory solutions are the answer, yet delivering it is not that simple! Practitioners need to reframe their clients' perspective of what they can do for them and they need to show the client that their business is an integral part of the client's future.

In this session William Pegg, Director of Synthesis Group, provided insight and shared his experience and knowledge with 50 of our members into how public practitioners are able to differentiate in a crowded market and enhance the client experience through commercial advisory services that clients truly value. The result - greater profit and revenue for them and for the practitioner.

Sharing Knowledge Series – Small Business Roadshow – Navigating the Regulatory Maze

This session provided an opportunity for 100 of our members to hear from Australia's key government regulators and learn about the resources available to assist small business. In this session, representatives from ASIC, ACCC, ATO, SA Small Business Commissioner and Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman discussed how Australia's regulatory bodies are streamlining regulation and providing valuable resources for practitioners and their small business clients.

CA Diversity Series - Thrive at Home and at Work... making flexibility work for you, your team and your organisation

Flexibility doesn't have to mean less hours - just work when you work best and give yourself a chance to fit in everything else going on in your life. Research shows that flexibility promotes diversity, but finding the way to harness all the benefits of flexible work arrangements can be challenging. Seventy members joined Lucinda Hewitson and Brigid Emmett from Diversity Inclusion in this interactive session, where we gained an understanding of the broad range of circumstances that require flexibility in the workplace, learnt how to overcome negative perceptions and received tips on how flexible work can work for you and your business, so you can thrive.

Building Knowledge Series - Grain and Market Update

In preparation for the upcoming harvest period, 30 members heard from James Hillcoat, of Rural Directions, as he provided an insight into grain markets and the factors influencing grain marketing decisions this season, managing the fear and greed cycle of growers and derivatives, including actual case studies.

Strategies for Success Series - Property Market Panel

This session featured a panel of experts discussing the hot topic of Property Investment. The discussion covered commercial versus residential investing, types of investing – primary residence and investment property, development and/or business property, property market insights and funding aspects of different investments.

One hundred members were in attendance with the discussion facilitated by Kristen Raison from High Heel Consulting and included the following panellists:

  • Damien Willis – Sales Consultant, Ouwens Casserly Real Estate

Sharing Knowledge Series - Revenue SA

One hundred members heard from RevenueSA's Erin Hill and Matthew Fraser in this informative session that featured a SA Budget Update, SA Payroll Tax Changes (proposed to commence from 1 January 2019), RevenueSA Online System and a common errors/FAQ discussion.

Your local NTCA and Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand held a CA ANZ Tri Sports Evening in Darwin where members and guests attended Top End Indoor Sports for a game of soccer, netball and/or dodge ball.

Christmas Networking Event - Friday 9 November

Your local NTCA, Regional Manager SA/NT, Renee Feltrin and SA/NT Regional Chair, Bruce Debenham FCA invite you to join us for this free event to celebrate the festive season and show your support by making a monetary donation towards Foodbank NT.

Each year more than 42,000 Northern Territorians experience food insecurity and around half of them are children. That's one person in ten. Christmas can be a tough time of year for a lot of Northern Territorians, however Foodbank makes it a priority to help where they can.
