Tuesday 10 April 2018: Sharing Knowledge Series: Reporting & Assurance Update

Ceri-Ann Ross, Reporting Leader, Leadership and Advocacy, Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand, provided 90 members with an up-to-date briefing on developments in Reporting and Assurance. During the briefing, Ceri-Ann discussed developments and upcoming changes in auditing and reporting as well as insights into regulator focuses.

Wednesday 11 April 2018: Building Knowledge Series: Future Proof your CFO Role with Business Intelligence

Big data is dramatically changing the role of the finance function. Embracing Business Intelligence (BI) allows finance professionals to spend less time compiling information and more time analysing and advising on it – really adding value to the organisation, CEO’s and Boards. 60 Members joined our panel from 3 local businesses who have embraced BI and now they can’t imagine running a business without it. The panel shared practical tips about product selection and implementation, what they learned from their challenges and insights into how you might introduce BI into your business.

Thursday 19 April 2018: Social Series: Gin Society Session Masterclass

Emerging star Hugh Lumsden, from Adelaide's Lyrebird Distilling Company, took two groups through a 30 minute informative session exploring how the fruits and herbs chosen to garnish the 4 gins infuse the concoction and match to the individual's palate. Hugh also talked about the various distilling methods used to create gin and explained how different distillers use alternative processes to achieve results. During Hugh's session the groups had the opportunity to assemble their own drinks from the Tasting Board.

Thursday 3 May 2018: Merit Awards Presentation Ceremony

We were delighted to host a special presentation ceremony to celebrate the achievements of Chartered Accountants Program candidates. Over 60 Merit Award Recipients and guests attended the evening.

Certificates and Awards were presented by the SA/NT Regional Chair, Bruce Debenham FCA, to candidates who received a pass with merit for:

  • FIN317 Financial Accounting & Reporting
  • MAA317 Management Accounting & Applied Finance
  • CAP417 Capstone

Thursday 14 June 2018:  CA Program Welcome Event

You are invited to the Term 2 Welcome Event in Adelaide. This event is a great opportunity for you to put your networking skills in practice in a relaxed environment whilst meeting your fellow candidates also commencing their Chartered Accountants journey.

Session 3 – Achievement, Self Confidence and Resilience The Strategies for Success Future Leaders Career Development Series has been developed to equip candidates, early-career members and other business professionals early in their careers with skills and advice to support their career progressions.

Attendees will be invited to participate in a 2 hour interactive workshop, prepared and presented by a facilitator. There will be 8 sessions held over a 12 month period. Participants can register in single or multiple sessions.
