Regional Manager's update
I hope you, your families and your teams are well during this unprecedented time for all of us.
Chartered Accountants ANZ has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 developments and taking practical action to help protect the more vulnerable members of our community.
We also understand you are all dealing with a multitude of challenges within your businesses and also at home, to respond to this period of disruption with care and consideration.
As your professional body, we also wish to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of our members, candidates and people so we are moving as quickly as we can to pivot to online or virtual member support and learning or in some cases to postpone or cancel existing face to face ceremonies and events.
Please be assured that as your professional body we will balance the community need for social distancing with the designation's imperative to learn, connect, be informed and advocate for better policy and outcomes with governments and regulators to navigate through and past this event.

Sharing Knowledge Series: Land Tax Update
We welcomed Revenue SA as part of our Sharing Knowledge series for members in 2020, presenting a Land Tax Information Session. Lots of changes taking place with Land Tax in South Australia from 1 July 2020 and the session provided a comprehensive summary with many practical examples provided of how the changes will impact taxpayers.
Building Knowledge Series: Instructing Experts in the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court
Our first Business Valuation series event for 2020 was recently held on 3 March - Instructing Experts in the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court.This successful event was presented by Barrister, John McGinn, and explored the following topics:

Forum: NT Forum
The Northern TerritoryChartered Accountants Forum - Beyond 2020 looked at the future for accounting and business, changing legislation and technologies.
The ever-changing landscape is having a large impact on business. The Forum explored some of these changes to ensure we continue to deliver increased efficiencies, better value, growth opportunities and to meet the increasing demands of the market. In reaction to the changing landscape, a new breed of Accountant is emerging - those who operate as a strategic link to finance, technology and innovation.
The NT Forum brought together an exciting program of speakers who explored the future of business and how the changing landscape will impact on business in the Northern Territory beyond 2020.
