Message from the Regional Manager
It is very exciting and a great privilege to have the opportunity to serve you as your Interim Regional Manager for South Australia and Northern Territory, and to work alongside the rest of the Adelaide Office team. By way of background, I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2010 whilst working in tax at a Big 4, before moving into the corporate space, and then tax education and content. For the last 3 years, I have been working at CA ANZ as the Senior Module Leader for the Tax Module in the CA Program.
Whilst working in the CA Program, I was constantly impressed at the dedication of our members who contributed to the development of future CAs through exam development, reviewing and marking. I have been equally inspired by the passion and insight of the members who serve on the SA & NT Council and Panels as they seek to serve other members, businesses and the broader community. COVID-19 has presented a unique set of problems as well as a unique set of opportunities, which the SA & NT Council and Panels have been working to identify, such as ensuring businesses still have access to professional advice when JobKeeper runs out, creating intergenerational value to compensate for the intergenerational cost of the stimulus packages, incorporating learnings from the success stories of working from home, and the importance of mindfulness and wellbeing during uncertain times, just to name a few.
The recruitment process for a permanent Regional Manager for SA & NT is underway and we will provide an update when appropriate. For our NT members, Jenna Swanson started with CA ANZ in April as the NT Relationship Specialist so I'm sure you'll be hearing from her soon.
Once again, I am excited to be serving you over the next short period and please do not hesitate to reach out directly to me, the team or to the SA & NT Council and Panels, who also represent you.
Interim Regional Manager SA/NT
With our pivot to digital event delivery we are creating more opportunities for our organisation, your member body, to engage with members and for you as members to connect with us and your fellow peers. We encourage members to join the COVID-19 Group on MyCA to engage with other members and access resources during this challenging time.
We are continuing to add more offerings to our members through the delivery of our online events. Please go to the CA ANZ Store page and watch your emails (check your junk email folders now and then) to see what events are coming up for members across Australia and New Zealand. We'd love to see you online!
There are a number of resources available for members including, but not limited to:
Your COVID-19 Resource Hub
This is a dedicated hub that is regularly updated to ensure members are equipped to navigate the serious long-term economic and business impacts from this pandemic.
As part of the COVID-19 Member support project, we have collated themes which members have identified as areas they could use resources on. Using those themes, we are now building pages to house resources for each theme. So far, two new themes have been built with more to follow:
Torrens University Australia Short Courses - complimentary access
To keep people connected, lift morale and create opportunity for personal growth and development Torrens University Australia (TUA) are offering SA-NT members complimentary access to their Short Courses.
