Simon Hann appointed Interim CEO

Simon Hann has been named as CA ANZ’s Interim Chief Executive Officer, replacing Rick Ellis who announced he was standing down late last year.

The Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Board has appointed Simon Hann as Interim Chief Executive Officer.

He retains his role as Group Executive Education & Learning.

Simon was appointed Interim CEO to ensure CA ANZ has continuity of leadership while we work through changes to the ways we support the profession and its future. He worked closely with Rick Ellis and the broader Executive Team on a handover. Rick last year announced he has not put himself forward to extend his role as CEO beyond his current contract.

The search for a new CEO continues to progress, overseen by the Board.

Simon has previous experience as a CEO, including as head of the corporate education arm of Melbourne’s Deakin University, DeakinCo. He received a handover from Rick Ellis who announced in December he was not be putting himself forward to extend his role as CEO when his contract finishes.

Simon has also served as Chief Executive Officer at Salmat Learning and was President of the eLearning Industry Association for five years and a non-executive director of Learning Seat for four years.

He started his career as a practising solicitor, holding a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Law from the University of Melbourne.
