Wednesday 22 May 2019 - Strategies for Success Series: Driving and Supporting Innovation and Entrepreneurship in SA

In this session we were joined by leading industry professionals from different backgrounds Michelle Perugini (Co-Founder & CEO – Life Whisperer), Stephen Rodda (Executive Director of  Innovation & Commercial Partnerships,  University of Adelaide) and Mim Harvey (Director, Harvey Labels) who all shared their insights on how South Australia is driving and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship.

Wednesday 29 May 2019 - CA Diversity Series: National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. This years’ theme was "Grounded in Truth: Walk Together with Courage" and our profession came together with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia and Indigenous Accountants Australia co-hosting a Reconciliation Week panel discussion.

Friday 31 May 2019 - Forum Series: Property Forum

The SA Property Forum kicked off with an opening keynote address delivered by South Australian Valuer-General Katherine Bartolo explaining the important and independent role of the Office.  This was followed by an Interesting presentation and discussion by Yash Ajgaonkar and Andrew Ferrier from ANZ stepping the audience through how lending and funding transactions are being assessed in both the residential and commercial property markets at the moment. After a short break Lynette Spry and Ross Sicuro from Moore Stephens presented on the tax hotspots in property.  The Forum was closed out with a fascinating and robust panel discussion discussing all things the South Australian property market at Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Property Forum in Adelaide.  Some of the hot topics covered in this discussion included post-election recovery, talk of interest rate cuts, SA market performance versus national, need for more robust budget planning prior to lending and more time required to complete transactions.

Monday 3 June 2019- Sharing Knowledge Series: Reporting and Assurance Update

Wednesday 22 May & Thursday 23 May 2019 - Member Presentation & Cocktail Event – Darwin & Alice Springs

Another fantastic trip to Northern Territory this week celebrating the achievements of our members in the Top End. Certificate Presentation Ceremony events were held in both Darwin and Alice Springs. Excellent turn out from our membership community in the region. Congratulations to the merit award, 10 and 40 year service award recipients and new Fellow Neil Mcleod. Thank you to Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand President Stephen Walker FCA and SA/NT Regional Chair Anna Nolan for joining us on our travels to Darwin and Alice Springs this week.
