We have issued our Reporting and Assurance Essential Guides for Australia and New Zealand respectively, which contain key information about the upcoming reporting season. They are packed with key accounting and auditing standards developments and their impact on the preparation and audit of financial reports, as well as other assurance engagements. They also outline regulator focus areas for both reporting surveillance and audit inspections.
They list the newly effective pronouncements for 31 December 2019 year-ends and those that have been issued but are not yet effective where early adoption is permitted. Tier 1 entities are reminded of the requirement to disclose an assessment of the impact of accounting standards issued but not yet effective.
