Regional Manager Update

So, we have now had a federal Budget, we are into federal election mode, and we also are encouraging members to vote on the recommendations out of the governance review following the merger of NZICA and ICAA in 2015. There is plenty on for members in May, so please read on!

On a State taxes front, the Queensland Office of State Revenue is about to release a land tax portal to help Queensland landowners more readily manage their land tax affairs.  The brief demonstration provided to Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand representatives indicates the portal will have very good functionality for both landowners, their accountants and other authorised representatives.  The purpose of the portal is so that land tax affairs can be more efficiently managed.  Assessments and land holdings can be easily reviewed and the portal provides a secure interface for communications with the OSR.  We hope to provide further details to members in May 2019, which is closer to when it is currently expected the portal will go live.
