- Paul O’Malley, Chartered Accountant and former CEO of BlueScope Steel has been appointed to the Board of Commonwealth Bank.
- Chair of the Board, Catherine Livingstone welcomed Mr O’Malley’s appointment.
- Mr O’Malley holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters in Applied Finance, as well as being a Chartered Accountant.
Former Chief Executive of BlueScope Steel and Chartered Accountant, Paul O’Malley has been appointed as the newest Independent Non-Executive Director at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA).
With extensive experience in senior management positions, Mr O’Malley’s appointment is being welcomed for the operational and finance experience he will bring.
Mr O’Malley served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at BlueScope Steel for over a decade, and held the position of Chief Financial Officer before taking on the Chief Executive role.
Prior to this, Mr O’Malley led TXU Energy as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Chair of the CBA Board, Catherine Livingstone acknowledged the skills and experience Mr O’Malley would bring.
