Heartland appoints Cherise Barrie CA as CFO

Heartland Group Holdings and Heartland Bank have appointed Cherise Barrie CA as Chief Financial Officer to the New Zealand bank.

Cherise has previously held executive positions at Westpac New Zealand, Health Alliance NZ and Sovereign and senior roles with ANZ Bank. She is a passionate advocate of women in business, being a member of Global Women and previously a director and treasurer for Dress for Success in Auckland.

Sara Brownlie CA appointed to council Risk and Assurance Committee

Sara Brownlie CA has been appointed the first independent member of Upper Hutt City Council’s Risk and Assurance Committee.

Sara has extensive experience working in the public sector in New Zealand in senior financial management roles. She is also currently serving as a director at the Research and Education Advanced Network of New Zealand and open source technology company Catalyst.net.

Leanne Macdonald CA to lead Corporate Services at district council

Central Otago District Council has appointed Leanne Macdonald CA as its new Executive Manager Corporate Services.

Leanne has worked in both the private sector and local government. She will be coming to Central Otago from her position as Chief Financial Officer at Horizons Regional Council in Palmerston North. She was also formally the Manager of Business Services at Palmerston North Airport.
