Dame Therese Walsh DNZM, FCA to join Contact Energy Board

CA ANZ Fellow Dame Therese Walsh has been appointed as a director to the Contact Energy Board, taking up the role on 1 September 2018. 

Dame Therese is Chairperson of TVNZ, and a director of Air NZ and ASB Bank. She is also a Board member of Antarctica NZ, a Trustee of Wellington Regional Stadium, and Pro-Chancellor of Victoria University. 

FCAs appointed to Fletcher Building Board

Bruce Hassall FCA will succeed Ralph Norris as Chair of Fletcher Building when he steps down in September. 

Bruce currently chairs Fletcher Building's Audit and Risk Committee and is on the Boards of BNZ, Farmers, Fonterra and Prolife Foods. He was Chief Executive Officer for PwC New Zealand for seven years.

He will be joined on the Board by Rob McDonald FCA who has been appointed a director. Rob also sits on the CA ANZ Board.

Kiwi tops in Australasia in post-grad exams

Hannah Horton, an auditor with accounting and business advisory firm BDO in Auckland, came top out of 731 candidates across Australasia in the recent CA ANZ Capstone Module exams.

The Capstone Module is the final module of the prestigious postgraduate accounting programme run by CA ANZ.
