Out-going Board member elected VUW Chancellor

Neil Paviour-Smith FCA has been elected Chancellor of Victoria University of Wellington for 2018.

He was unanimously elected to lead Victoria’s governing body at a meeting of the Council. He is the Managing Director of sharebroking and investment firm Forsyth Barr, an out-going director of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a former director of NZX.

He is currently Pro-Chancellor, having been a member of the Victoria University Council since mid-2013 and chairs the Audit and Risk Committee. 

FCA Hawke’s Bay Business Leader of the Year

Caren Rangi FCA has picked up The Linden Estate Leader of the Year award at the PAN PAC Hawke’s Bay Business Awards held earlier this month.

Caren is Ei Mua Consulting Ltd's principal consultant. 

The Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Small-Medium Business award was won by Napier accounting and tax services firm KiwiTaxLtd.

Melbourne-based Kiwi CA appointed BNZ CFO

Mandy Rutherford CA, the former Chief Financial Officer of one of Malaysia’s largest banks, has been appointed BNZ’s CFO. 

She will take up the role in March 2018.

Mandy is currently General Manager of Wealth Transition and Separation at ANZ in Melbourne.

She has received several business awards including winning Best CFO (Investor Relations) and Best Investor Relations Team, for Malaysia at the 5th Asian Excellence Recognition Awards in 2015 and CFO of the Year, Malaysia, at The Asset CFO/Treasurer of the Year Awards in 2014.

CA Internal Auditor of the Year

Ramon Manzano CA, General Manager of the healthAlliance Regional Internal Audit team has won the 2017 Internal Auditor of the Year award at the Institute of Internal Auditor’s New Zealand Awards.

Ramon’s team also won the Team Excellence in Internal Audit award.

The IIA Awards acknowledge outstanding performance within the internal audit profession. The Internal Auditor of the Year award is the supreme award.
