NSW Thank You Function Update

A night to say thank you to the past and welcome to the future.

On Thursday 28 April, surrounded by the rain and Sydney winds, members of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand’s (CA ANZ) councils, committees and panels from 2021 came together to celebrate the year that was and the year that 2022 will hope to be.

The event was an overdue engagement with many postponements due to COVID and calendar conflicts. The night was set to acknowledge the achievements made throughout the challenging year of 2021 and recognise those who contributed.

At the event, we heard from NSW Regional Manager, Renee Feltrin FCA. Renee spoke about the challenges we faced in 2021, and the achievements at CA ANZ that were made possible from the support of our councils, committees, panels, and devoted members.

Renee also took the time to say thank you to Margaret Brewer, who joined us on the evening. Margaret worked at CA ANZ for 24 years in a range of roles. Throughout her time, Margaret saw 5 CEOs, a merger and an office move from York St to Erskine St in Sydney - talk about a jam-packed 24 years. We say thank you to Margaret for her enormous contribution and years of service..

We also heard from Ben Wong FCA, our 2022 NSW Council Chair. Ben has been a part of the CA ANZ family for many years, and excitement surrounds the changes and impact Ben will make in the role.

Last, but not certainly least, we heard from our CA ANZ President Kate Boorer FCA. Kate, as always, shared her enthusiasm for being our President and her passion to continue to make 2022 a year to remember for CA ANZ.

The night was filled with good drinks, great food, and even better networking. We were also joined by members of our Young Chartered Accountants Panel. Throughout 2021, our panel encouraged other Young Chartered Accountants to continue their passion for accounting during the lockdown in Sydney for four months. This was achieved through Red Leaf Sessions that covered a range of topics as well as many social events throughout 2021 that encouraged networking and relationship building.

We also were joined by members of our newly created NSW Public Sector Advisory Panel, including Joyce Low FCA & William Yan FCA.

Other members present on the night included our NSW Regional Panel members, NSW Council members as well as many CA ANZ employees who appreciated the continual support from our panels, committees and councils.

The night was one to thank, one to collaborate and most importantly, one to remember.

“It’s a really a thank you to all you guys, CA ANZ does not function without each and every one of you, whether you are on a panel, committee, a group, a council member or staff”
