NSW Regional Council update
As previously advised each NSW Regional Councillor is focussing on specific NSW member segments to approach with a view to strengthening and broadening our member engagement. We are also working more closely with CA ANZ management in support of members.
Council members are attending member events and meetings and making contact with NSW members in the various segments, including the various discussion groups, to ensure we are representing the NSW membership. We look forward to meeting with you over the coming months and to your feedback.
If you’d like to talk to one of our NSW Councillors please contact us in the first instance by email and we will arrange to put you in contact with a Councillor.
Some of the organisation’s initiatives over the last few months include the roll out of the My CA portal.
This provides you with the opportunity to manage your membership via one simple log on and more easily access relevant tools and information.
Advocacy is another key issue for members. Are you aware of recent initiatives? See the CA ANZ website for more details.
There are a number of newsletters available on key technical areas, e.g. Reporting and Assurance, Tax, Superannuation, Business Valuation, Library News, etc. Log in to the My CA portal, go to My Communication Preferences and select newsletters of interest. Please make sure to update your profile in My CA to Opt In for email communications or you may miss out (due to privacy restrictions since 2018 members are requested to opt in to communications via the My CA website to ensure you are only receiving communications that you want).
Are you a member looking to connect with a mentor? Are you an experienced member looking to share your experience?
Applications for Mentor Exchange 2019 are now open and close on Monday, 12 August 2019.
This program is a very popular and valued CA ANZ initiative. Mentees, and mentors, have provided very positive feedback about their experiences.

NSW Anniversary Presentation
As NSW Chair I was very pleased to host the Anniversary presentation ceremony for members celebrating 25, 40, 50, 60 and 70 years of membership. This is always a delightful event and great to meet with and hear the stories and achievements of our senior members in the community.
Our guest speakers for the evening were President, Stephen Walker FCA, and on behalf of members attending, 25 year member and past President, Rachel Grimes FCA. Rachel spoke to the value of members’ contribution in volunteering and engaging with their professional organisation, and the value of the CA designation in our careers. I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate the members receiving awards that were able to attend the evening, and the members celebrating their anniversaries this year and who were unable to join us on the evening.
Some of the upcoming NSW member events include:
