Ka tangi te tītī
Ka tangi te kākā
Ka tangi hoki ko ahau
Tihei Mauri Ora!

Ngā Kaitatau Māori o Aotearoa (NKMoA) and Chartered Accountants ANZ (CA ANZ) continue to collaborate, consult and deliver outcomes and opportunities with Māori, to Māori, and for Māori, working together to further embed our whakawhanaungatanga.

One initiative that CA ANZ and NKMoA have been working together on, is NKMoA’s Hui-a-Tau. The Hui-a-Tau will be held on July 14 and 15 at Rotorua and is an example of our partnership.

CA ANZ is again a proud partner and sponsor of the Hui and encourages you to spread the word about the conference to your Māori Chartered Accounting and business peers.

You will hear from a superb line up of speakers and of course it will be an excellent opportunity to network. We call on you to register your interest and participate in the Hui in 2017.

In order to further our commitment to growing the number of Māori in the accounting profession, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand has appointed Kateriina Selwyn as Māori Sector Manager – a first for the country’s largest accounting organisation.

Kateriina’s role will be to foster long-term and meaningful relationships with Iwi (tribes), employers, Chartered Accountants ANZ members and prospective members to increase the number of Māori Chartered Accountants.

Chartered Accountants ANZ has worked very closely with Māori members, whānau, hapū, and iwi since the early 2000s.

Our connection with NKMoA is now 12 years old. Over that period our Māori membership has reached almost 900 qualified Māori Chartered Accountants distributed globally across ngā hau e wha.

Our MOU’s overarching objectives include:

  • Establishing a Māori consultation committee to support and advise CA ANZ on issues relating to Māori business
  • Establishing a framework for consultation and collaboration on public advocacy and communications
  • Raising the the NKMoA profile among CA ANZ members
  • Encouraging more Māori to choose accounting as a career.

CA ANZ and NKMoA look forward to engaging and delivering exciting initiatives with you and encourage your whakaaro, wairuatanga, and whakawhanaunga as we continue to paddle our waka forward on this kaupapa.

Chartered Accountants ANZ is passionate about whanaungatanga (and the strength of your Māori CA membership and making a difference together), mātauranga (your ongoing pursuit of learning, financial literacy, knowledge and growth), and tikangatanga (at the forefront of all you do). Together we are committed to offering business, accounting, and financial capability and opportunity, and there is much more to be done.

Ngā mihi
