New Member Ceremony - Congratulations to WA Members

On Thursday 8th June, we hosted our first New Member Ceremony at the Westin Hotel in Perth.

WA State Manager Aymee Mastaglia facilitated the proceedings, and the ceremony began with a Welcome to Country from Whadjuk Noongar Elder Vaughan McGuiire. WA Council Chair for 2023 Vivian Wang CA, gave an update on recent activity around the state, and Mel Groves FCA gave an inspiring keynote address to new members about the opportunities that the CA designation can bring.  She encouraged them to build upon their achievements, believe in their skills and to follow their dreams.

Other members of the WA Council, past State Chairs and members of the Young CAs Panel, the Corporate Advisory Panel and the Public Practice Panel were on hand to celebrate with this cohort of new members.

Once everyone had received their certificates, Vivian Wang CA led the traditional Charge to new members to uphold the CA designation and to work with ethics and integrity to preserve and enhance the profession’s reputation.

New member Alesha Scurria CA responded to the charge on behalf of all new members, taking the opportunity to thank all of those who supported the new members in achieving their CA designation.

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand are so proud of the work our new members have completed and thrilled to see where the future takes them.

Nik Trajcevski CA, Chair of the WA Young CAs Panel, addressed the group encouraging them to be involved in upcoming initiatives. Finally, Alex Da Silva CA from our sponsors DaSilva Youngson Executive Recruitment addressed the group.

Once the formalities were over, new members and guests enjoyed canapes and drinks and an opportunity to catch up with each other and members of WA Council and Panels.
