George Bogdanovic FCA, Julia Fink FCA, Carla Jago FCA and John Schol FCA take up new council roles in 2021.
Councillors represent the interests of the members as a whole and Council membership rotates every year.
CA ANZ President Nives Botica Redmayne FCA thanked retiring members Peter O'Regan FCA, Shawn Quinton FCA and Richard Dey FCA. "Peter, Shawn and Richard were wonderful contributors to the Council, from strongly representing individual members through to having a clear-minded strategic view of the interests of the membership and profession at large."
George Bogdanovic FCA
George has over 25 years' experience in the finance industry across the both private and public sectors. He has held senior roles in finance, enterprise risk, operations, business development and corporate strategy.
As a C-level executive he has played key leadership roles in major transformation programs and created organisational cultures supporting teams to achieve their very best. A CA since 1996, George has been a NSW Councillor since 2017, a member of the NSW Corporate Panel and is a passionate advocate of our profession.
Julia Fink FCA
Julia is the Chief Financial Officer at Upper Hutt City Council and a small business owner. She started her accounting career at Deloitte in Audit, moving into Deloitte Private.
Julia was heavily involved in the roll out of public benefit entity financial reporting standards for registered charities in her former role at DIA Charities Services. This role led to her current position as a Board member of the External Reporting Board.
Julia has been involved with CA ANZ since she was a provisional member, serving on the Women Accountants and Not for Profit Special Interest Group committees in Wellington, the Charities and Not for Profit Trans-Tasman Advisory Committee and the Wellington Local Committee and as a New Zealand Councillor. Julia was instrumental in setting up the CA ANZ Charity Reporting Awards and the Charity Law, Accounting and Regulation Conference.
Carla Jago FCA, GAICD
Carla is the Group Executive Director of the Assurance Audit Services Group in the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO). As part of this role, she oversees the financial statements audits of all Australian Government entities and the Whole of Government's consolidated financial statements.
Carla has over 22 years' professional experience in public sector auditing. She has a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Accounting and a Bachelor of Laws. She is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
She has been a member of the CA ANZ ACT Regional Council since 2017 (including a year as Deputy Chair in 2020) and was previously a member of the CA ANZ Audit Advisory Committee.
John Schol FCA
John is the CEO of South Island CA firm Malloch McClean and holds a Certificate of Public Practice, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors.
He is a professional director at several large local government companies and chairs their audit and risk committee. Other governance roles include a local social enterprise company as well as several other private organisations. In addition, John serves on the Southern Institute of Technology's Business Consultative Group and on the Board of Trustees at St John's Girls School.
John is passionate about CA ANZ differentiating and enhancing its brand as and its value to members. His vision is to ensure members remain at the forefront of business through leadership, member networking and the uptake of technology.
He is currently involved with CA ANZ presenting webinars, speaking at conferences and hosting the CA Catalyst pod-cast series Small Firm Big Impact.
