Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) has announced 188 new Fellows across the globe.
Chartered Accountants in Australia made up 88 of the recipients: 18 from the ACT, 16 from NSW, 4 from Queensland, 14 from South Australia, 4 from Tasmania, 11 from Victoria and 21 from Western Australia.
Fellowships recognise members who have achieved excellence in their career and contributed to the accountancy profession, business and their communities.
Elwyn Ingley FCA is one of the Australian members awarded a Fellowship in the latest announcement of Fellows in December last year.
"I am grateful to so many people in the profession for the opportunities given to me over the years," Mr Ingley said.
"Fellowship is a recognition of the past, but its real value lies in future achievements and contributions."
"The attributes characteristic of a CA ANZ Fellow include an inquisitive mind, a passion for quality, determination and a commitment to helping other people."
President of CA ANZ, Stephen Walker FCA congratulated all of CA ANZ's newest Fellows on reaching the career milestone.
"I want to congratulate all of our newest Fellows for their outstanding career achievements and contributions to the accounting profession," Walker said.
"It is great to have Fellows like Elwyn who recognise that being a CA ANZ Fellow is about being inquisitive and innovative, but also committed to helping the community."
"From one Fellow to another, I warmly welcome you all and congratulate you again on this significant career milestone."
Mr Walker encouraged all Chartered Accountants to nominate deserving colleagues for a Fellowship in 2019.
"Nominations must be made by two Chartered Accountant peers, so if you know a CA who has been outstanding in their career or in their contribution to accountancy, consider putting them forward for a Fellowship this year."
Nominations for 2019 Fellowships open in April and close in July. Fellows will be announced at the end of the year.
The newest Fellows will be recognised at ceremonies across the country over the course of the year.
