Lower North Island regional update August 2019

Find out what's happening in the Wellington, Wairarapa, Whanganui and Manawatu Region.

In brief

  • Focus on mentor Exchange
  • Upcoming events

Focus on: Mentors

The Mentor Exchange program, that we run each year, has just closed with record numbers.  We are now in the process of matching the mentees with mentors.  This year we had 621 Mentees and 689 Mentors applying trans-Tasman.

I would like to take this opportunity to commend the Mentors even before they start.  Mentoring within your own profession and assisting the development of the next-generation of members is what I believe a professional body should do.  I look forward to positive feedback.

Local Committees

December / January will see the change from the old Local leadership Team (LLT) model to Local Committees.  The composition and role is very much the same, delivering value to members in the region but the assembling of the Committees has changed.  Gone is the voting process, instead the Chair, Regional Councillor and Regional Manager will identify positive and engaged local members.  They will then be appointed by the Regional Council on terms ranging from 1-3 years.

If you are interested in representing your region and working for your local members talk to one of the LLT.  I will add more material as we get closer to the change process identifying what a LC does and what value it delivers to local CA members.
