Important member update: FASEA proposed reforms

Important member update: FASEA proposed reforms

In brief

  • CA ANZ urges FASEA to recognise CA qualifications

Thank you to the many members who took the time to send feedback and participate in CA ANZ's recent survey on the Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority (FASEA)'s proposed reforms. This is an important issue and the information you provided formed a critical part of our submissions on the draft Code of Ethics, proposed education pathways and more recently the financial advisers' examination.

The theme across our submissions was to urge FASEA to recognise the significant existing education, training and ethical standards of Chartered Accountants and to highlight that public interest will be best served by retaining accounting professionals in the financial advice industry.

We will continue to advocate strongly on behalf of members with FASEA and will make submissions on the remaining areas currently open for consultation including the work and training requirement, foreign qualification and CPD.

If you have any feedback you would like to provide in relation to these consultations, please e-mail us at
