- Four Chartered Accountants ANZ members have been named Life Members by the CA ANZ Council

Murray Jack FCA, Ross Ledger FAICD FCA, Lyn Provost CNZM FCA and Tony van Zijl FCA have been named Life Members by the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Council.
Life Membership is recognition of exceptional members, acknowledging their outstanding careers and respect of their profession and communities.
CA ANZ President Stephen Walker congratulated the four new Life Members, saying the accolade is rare, reflecting the high standing required to be eligible for the award.
There are just 24 Life Members.
Murray Jack FCA
Murray was the inaugural Chair of the CA ANZ Board, retiring in July. A member since 1980 and Fellow since 2012, has held numerous prestigious senior roles throughout his career. From his time as Chairman at Deloitte NZ to his service as Director of the New Zealand Initiative, Murray has over 25 years of consulting experience and remains a recognised expert across different industries. Such expertise is reflected in his recent involvement in independent reviews for government ministers and agencies. Currently, he is a Global Board Member of Aurecon.
Ross Ledger FAICD FCA
Ross was conferred a Life Membership due to his long and outstanding career in business. He is currently the managing director of R E Ledger Pty Ltd, Chartered Accountants, a position he has held for almost three decades. Ross's dedication to the profession and greater community is evident in his service as WA State Registrar State, WA State Chairman, WA State Council Member and WA Representative on National Council to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. To the greater community, Ledger has served as both trustee and board member to several institutions. Ledger was inducted as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD).
Lyn Provost CNZM FCA
Lyn has had an outstanding and distinguished career. She was the first woman civilian to be appointed the role of Deputy Commissioner of New Zealand Police (Resource Management), a role she held for eight years. She then served as New Zealand’s first female Controller and Auditor-General at the office of the Controller and Auditor-General New Zealand from 2009 until 2017. Lyn currently holds numerous governance roles that demonstrate her great loyalty and dedication to the profession. As a result of such dedication, she has been the recipient of numerous awards including being appointed 'Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) for Services to the State' in the 2017 Queens Birthday Honours.
Tony van Zijl FCA
Tony has had an exceptional career spanning many decades. He is currently serving as Professor of Accounting & Financial Management and Director of the Centre for Accounting, Governance and Taxation Research (CAGTR) at Victoria University Wellington. Tony has been increasingly more involved with the academic profession with an illustrious career at Victoria University that started from his appointment as a Senior Lecturer in 1978. He has also had extensive involvement in accounting standard setting, has been the recipient of several awards and is a member of numerous professional organisations.
