- Congratulations to our 159 new members.
- Words of wisdom from Rebekah Morgan FCA.
On Monday 27 November, New South Wales hosted its final New Member Ceremony for 2023, with a total 159 new members being recognised.
This event not only celebrates the hard work of our newest members but also displays the supportive community they have, especially with members of our NSW Regional Council and NSW Young Chartered Accountants panel present on the evening.
Many distinguished guests were present in the room to share words of wisdom with our cohort including NSW Regional Chair, Jo Balcomb FCA who spoke to the fact that becoming a CA takes hard work, perseverance, courage and determination.
Rebekah Morgan FCA, then took the stage as our keynote speaker. Rebekah, Head of Finance at the GPT Group shared her journey as CA. Rebekah has had a stellar career and is a true example of where the CA designation can take our new members.
The formal part of the evening concluded with our newest members accepting the Charge. CA Graduate, Srishti Aggarwal on behalf of the cohort accepted the charge and took the opportunity to thank the people who have helped them get to where they are, including teachers, parents, siblings, mentors, friends and many more people.
Our graduates support network helps create the CAs of the future and without their support it would not be possible.
Networking is a fundamental part of being a Chartered Accountant, and plenty of it took place after the ceremony. Our new members had the opportunity to engage with members of the NSW Regional Council as well as here about the initiatives and activities that the NSW YCA Panel run.
On behalf of CA ANZ, we congratulate all our new members and are excited to see how they will make a difference in the future.
