- Presentation Dinner held at Q Events by Metropolis
The Victorian Member Engagement Team made their long-anticipated return to face-to-face events last week, by hosting the Fellowship Presentation Dinner on Monday 23 May at the stunning new venue, Q Events by Metropolis.
This was the very first face-to-face event in Melbourne, post covid since 2019! To say the team was very excited to be doing what they love again, and hosting our members, would be an understatement.
Hosted by Sam Sargood, Victorian Council Chair, our Fellowship Dinner gave us the opportunity to celebrate 14 of the 19 Victorian Members who advanced to Fellowship in 2021. Of those 14 newly admitted FCA’s were our very own Andrew Quinlan FCA and Elaine Coghlan FCA.
Andrew was awarded Fellowship for his service, commitment, and achievements to the profession. Andrew has been instrumental in delivering a number of member initiatives including mentoring, CA Communities, CA Career Transition Toolkit and CA Connections.
“Andrew takes the initiatives which are developed to support our membership base and drives them through CAANZ. Without Andrew's support the initiatives would not be where they are today.” (Peter Dikranis FCA, CA ANZ Victorian Councillor)
“Respect with which VCAP is held nationally is very high as a result of Andrew's leadership and connectivity to management, plus his strong advocacy of the Panel. His understanding and support of the outcomes and benefits that flow through to Members has been pivotal.” (Gavin Lindsay FCA, CA ANZ Victorian Member)
Elaine has been admitted to the membership as an Honorary FCA Member for her outstanding service to Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and our Victorian and Tasmania members for over 53 years.
Elaine joined The Institute of Chartered Accountants in November 1968 and took a short break in 1983 to care for her newly born twins, Melissa, and Cameron. Elaine started back in 1984 on a part-time basis before resuming full-time work in April 1988 and has been with CA ANZ ever since. Elaine will be retiring on 26 May and embarking on the next chapter of her life, with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
Congratulations Elaine! We wish you all the best and congratulations on your retirement.
Please see more photos from the evening.
We are so excited to be delivering face-to-face events again and can’t wait for the next big event – our Victorian New Member Ceremony on 22 June, our first New Member Ceremony in Melbourne since November 2019!
