At the Xero Awards’ this month, Convex Accounting was announced as the Small Accounting Partner of the Year, Maisey Harris and Co as Medium Accounting Partner of the Year, PFK New Zealand as National Partner of the Year and WE Accounting as Advisory Partner of the Year.
Maisey Harris and Co also took out the People’s Choice Award.
The Large Accounting Partner of the Year award went to BFA Limited and Bookkeeping Partner of the Year to Accountabill NZ.
Peter Vial FCA, New Zealand Country Head for Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and an awards’ judge, said that what stood out among the winners was the innovation they displayed with their services, their adept responses to the pandemic and the way the firms actively engaged to support their communities.
“What was also really noticeable across all the entries was their passion for their clients’ businesses and growth strategies,” he said. “They really cared which I believe underpinned the critical role accountants played in helping businesses and organisations get through tough and uncertain times.”
He also acknowledged all of the incredible finalists in this year’s awards. “The competition was fierce and each and every one deserved the recognition and should be celebrating their successes.”
Craig Hudson, NZ Xero Managing Director said accountants and bookkeepers became the first line of support for their clients when they didn’t know where or who to turn to. “Through this support, the impact our partners had on small businesses and their families shouldn’t be underestimated.”
