- Kate Boorer FCA has been appointed CA ANZ President for 2022
- Murray Harrington FCA has been reappointed as Vice President for New Zealand
- The CA ANZ Council has also appointed Tinashe Kamangira FCA as Vice President for Australia
Kate Boorer FCA has been appointed President of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) for 2022 by the CA ANZ Council.
The Council also appointed Tinashe Kamangira FCA, who is based in WA, as the new Vice President for Australia and Murray Harrington FCA will be continuing his role in New Zealand.
All positions commenced on 1 January 2022 and conclude at the end of the year.
The CA ANZ Council thanked outgoing 2021 President Dr Nives Botica Redmayne FCA for her leadership in a challenging year for both the member organisation and members with ongoing uncertainty and opportunities presented by COVID-19.
CA ANZ Chair John Palermo, also thanked Nives Botica Redmayne as the 2021 President and gave a vote of thanks at the 2021 AGM on behalf of the Board, the Council, CEO, executive team and our people:

Throughout, Nives has been an outstanding President who has worked tirelessly on behalf of all our members to ensure CA ANZ continued to navigate its path through the COVID pandemic. Nives embodies empathy, compassion, intellectual curiosity and a genuine willingness to listen and engage with the Board, Council and CA ANZ members at all levels. She has brought these qualities to her leadership of CA ANZ, both as the voice of members to the Board and in her Chairing of the CA ANZ Council.”
About Kate Boorer FCA
Kate is currently the Founder of Young Professional Women Australia and Partner of Quantum Impact Group, a consultancy specialises in the alignment of capability, leadership and organisational culture with business strategy.
With a diverse career, Kate has worked in both public practice (commencing her career at KPMG) and the private sector before moving away from a traditional finance career pursuing an entrepreneurial path. Passionate about both business and people, Kate has spent much of the past decade working with individuals and organisations to create workplace cultures where everyone thrives. Kate has been involved in both the design and delivery of the Mentor Exchange Program since its inception and is a regular speaker at Chartered Accountants ANZ conferences and events.
Kate is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants ANZ, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting from Macquarie University.
About Murray Harrington FCA
Murray holds a number of directorships and governance roles in infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, healthcare and the public sector. For many years Murray was a Partner in PwC and then the CEO of NomosOne, an Australasian software company, with customers in many countries.
Prior to this, Murray was a business owner, having successfully purchased, grown and exited businesses and worked internationally for Mobil Corporation.
About Tinashe Kamangira FCA
Tinashe is a Director at Deloitte Australia. He has more than 16 years of accounting, taxation and business advisory experience, serving private businesses and the family’s that own them.
He was previously in the Private Advisory Practice of Grant Thornton in Perth and also worked for Grant Thornton Sweden as part of the talent mobility program.
Tinashe is a member of the WA Regional Council and was Chair in 2019, in addition his role as a CA Program Facilitator and exam marker. He also sits on various boards, finance, audit and risk committees for local and international organisations.
Tinashe has a Bachelor of Commerce and majored in Accounting and Finance at Curtin University of Technology, Perth. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Information Systems and Information Technology.
