Business Briefs: Whittaker’s, New Zealand Most Trusted Brand – Wednesday 23 May

In this session of Business Briefs we heard from Philip Poole, Chief Marketing Officer of Whittaker's - one of New Zealand’s most iconic brands - on their approach to brand and marketing. The Whittaker Family has been making high-quality chocolate with the world’s finest ingredients for over 120 years. Whittaker’s is always surprising chocolate lovers with ever-more delicious products and its commitment to quality, which explains why this much-loved company has been voted Most Trusted Brand of All Brands for the sixth year in a row. 

This event was offered to our members nationally as a live webcast and we had over 550 people registered. Those who attended in person were treated to some delicious samples of Whittaker’s finest chocolate.    

CA Induction – Wednesday 30 May

This event was a great opportunity for our newest CA candidates to put their networking skills in practice in a relaxed environment whilst meeting fellow candidates also commencing their Chartered Accountants journey. The event featured a presentation from a module leader and recent graduate who covered advice and study hints, an insight into the learning resources and an understanding of how they will be assessed in the modules.

Also included was a workshop on effective networking, resilience and time management presented by Declan Scott from the Resilience Institute.  Almost 60 candidates attended the session.

Inspiring Breakfast with Robett Hollis – Thursday 21 June

Members had the opportunity to meet Robett Hollis - ranked as one of LinkedIn’s Top 3 Most Influential New Zealanders, who is heavily involved in the media/tech and startup ecosystem. Robett doesn’t do things by halves and currently he runs Aranui Ventures which owns several interests including FRONTSIDE. AIRTIME and he also founded and expanded ColabNZ.

Our first Transformation Workshop Series offered members tools and insights to create inclusive and diverse teams, build your personal brand, effectively lead teams today, into the future and through times of change.      

Business Briefs with Ani Wilson – Tuesday 3 July

Our latest Business Briefs session is on Brain Hacks for Mental Mastery.  Ani Wilson has spent the past eight years researching the less publicised powers within the human mind to turn this statement in to a reality. 

In her presentation guests will learn scientifically proven brain hacks to unlock dormant processing power, the fastest way to stop the stress response and the neural blueprint that redirects your path from burnout to beyond.

This will be a fun, fast paced interactive session and has over 180 people registered to attend both in person and via live webcast already.    

Auckland Presidential Dinner and Fellowship Awards Ceremony – Thursday 26 July

Our latest 26 Fellows will be celebrated at a Gala Dinner which is being held at the Hilton Hotel this year. 

The evening will include an Awards Ceremony and entertainment.  Fellows will celebrate with invited guests, family, colleagues and friends as we recognise the significant contribution they have all made to the profession.
