Auckland Inspiring Breakfast Series with Jake Millar – 14 August

Unfiltered co-founder and CEO Jake Millar spoke to members in Auckland, as well as via webcast around New Zealand, where he shared his journey, business stories and insights and tips on how to enjoy your business expedition. Jake shared lessons he has learnt from other business owners and entrepreneurs. He discussed how to find happiness in the journey, as well as how to quickly learn to fail, fix and learn fast. Our members really enjoyed Jake’s insights both in the room and online and we received great feedback.

YAG Speed Networking Event – 14 November

Our Auckland Young Accountants Group (YAG) held a Speed Networking Event, where our future leaders had the opportunity to network and meet key business leaders and industry experts in the profession. This allowed them a unique opportunity to ask questions about their roles, hear insights into their careers and discover how the CA designation has provided these leaders with excellent career opportunities. This was held in the Bluestone room in the city, with more than 60 young accountants in attendance.

Business Briefs: Framing effective conversations for maximum impact – 22 November

In our latest session of Business Briefs, we heard from Toni Snelgrove on the topic of Framing Effective Conversations for maximum impact. Toni is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation, (ICF). The leading global organisation is dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high standards, providing independent certification, and building a worldwide network of credential coaches. We had a great turnout with more than 264 registered attendees both online and in person.

Priya Singh CA is the Young Regional Advocate for Auckland

Priya Singh CA has been an active member of CA ANZ since she became a Chartered Accountant in 2014 and has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the accounting profession and her local community

For this reason, Priya has been selected as the Young Regional Advocate for Auckland, putting her into contention for the 2018 CA ANZ President’s Prize, an award from CA ANZ recognising exemplary Chartered Accountants under 35. She joins a pool of 12 Young Regional Advocates nominated for the President's Prize.

This year alone, Priya has presented to the Board of CA ANZ as a young member and addressed the World Congress of Accountants on young accountants and their impact on the world.

Priya is currently the General Manager of Enterprise Data and Financial Excellence at Fonterra, and has founded two social enterprises – Karma Collective and Mentor me Fiji Foundation.
