Business Briefs: Create Communicate Connect: 9 April 2019
In our latest session of Business Briefs, we heard from Rebecca Morris on Create Communicate Connect. Rebecca Morris is a behaviour change expert, mindset mentor, speaker and author. She founded Paradigm Shift in 2011 because she repeatedly saw corporate career leaders allowing chaos to reign rather than choosing effective change. Rebecca showed us how our thoughts and beliefs drive every conversation we have. Communication is the new currency. We had a good turnout with over 160 registered both online and in person.
Managing Balance with Rebecca Morris: 10 April 2019
On Wednesday, 10 April Rebecca Morris, spoke to some of our Northland members at the Whangarei Cricket Club. Rebecca shared practical strategies to help manage the balance across business and personal worlds such as dealing with guilt, confidence, being heard, feeling overwhelmed, busy, chaotic, self-sabotaging through the need to control — these are only a small part of the mind chatter we have. Those who attended the event enjoyed the session and strategies that Rebecca shared.
Future[inc]: The Future of Trust: 7 May 2019
Join us on Tuesday, 7 May for the Auckland launch of our latest future[inc] Thought Leadership paper. The paper The Future of Trust was prepared by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand with the assistance of Dr Lisa Marriott. Trust is the basis of all relationships whether they are personal, business or community ones. Trust has been declining around the world, yet it is vital for retaining our staff and our customers. In this event we will hear from Dr Lisa Marriott followed by a panel of speakers who will discuss the key points from this paper. Auckland New Members Ceremony: 16 May 2019

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) is thrilled to host a special New Members' Ceremony and cocktail event to celebrate your achievement with family, friends, colleagues and CA ANZ comrades.
Stephen Walker FCA, Chartered Accountants ANZ president will be attending the event to present the certificates to our new members. We will also hear from Priya Singh, CA, who will share her career journey and provide inspiration around being a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and what this meant for her and the opportunities it has created. This event is a highlight in our CA ANZ calendar as we welcome new members into our “family”. We look forward to supporting you as members who make a positive difference in the communities in which you work and live.
Inspiring Breakfast with Cam Calkoen: 23 May
Cam Calkoen was born with Cerebral Palsy and was told that his biggest challenges would be the way he walks and talks. No one can walk and talk at birth, however, some people like Cam are presented with this likelihood for the rest of their lives.
Cam's session, Attitude makes the Difference, share’s strategies to start motivating ourselves to do more than just the “daily grind”. This session will provide a totally unique and fresh hit of adrenalin for individuals to rise each morning with the inner strength to embrace their lives, jobs and wellbeing. With his ability to have audiences in tears one minute and fits of laughter the next this event is not to be missed. This session is open to all members, provisional members and non-members to attend in person or via live webcast.

On 29 May we are holding the next event in our Transformation Workshop Series and will look at the topic, Business of the Future. You will hear from leaders in their fields from across the globe. The speakers will speak on Employee Engagement, Agile Strategy, Leading teams through change and Organisational culture to support change. In our world today, the business landscape is changing and being disrupted at exponential rates, blink and a new technology platform or product is being launched. What differentiates you from your competitors? Agile teams, leadership and organisations cultured to support this new norm of change and disruption need to be nurtured and transformed. Aimed at public practice firms looking to access new business by ascertaining the ability to play a hands-on role in driving success within start-ups, scale-ups and growth organisations. A panel of experienced professionals and will provide advice and direction in how to advise for growth in current or new clients.
