R U OK day – time to pause and reflect

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand gets behind R U OK day this Thursday, taking time to connect with people around us and support anyone struggling.

In Brief

  • R U OK day this Thursday is a day to pause and reflect on what really matters
  • CA ANZ is observing R U OK day as a day to check in on colleagues and members
  • All workplaces should look at what they can do

Chartered Accountants ANZ is supporting members and our employees to hit pause this R U OK? Day on 9 September and to reflect and invest in their own mental wellbeing in a way that suits them, whether that’s no meetings, connecting with others or coming along to resilience training.

CA ANZ will pause our usual activities for the day and our people will take time to reflect on whether we are ok by, for example, having a meeting or email free day. Each team will explore and decide with their leaders what course of action suits them.

As part of R U OK? Day, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand is highlighting the importance of encouraging meaningful conversations at work, at home and with friends and family.

“Mental wellbeing issues do not discriminate, and the pandemic has brought mental health into sharp focus for so many of us,” Chartered Accountants ANZ President Dr Nives Botica Redmayne said.
