- R U OK day this Thursday is a day to pause and reflect on what really matters
- CA ANZ is observing R U OK day as a day to check in on colleagues and members
- All workplaces should look at what they can do
Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) is observing R U OK day this Thursday (10 September) – a day of action to check in on each other – by taking a pause to reflect and restore some balance in our workplace.
CA ANZ will pause our usual activities for the day and our people will take time reflect on whether we are ok by, for example, having a meeting or email free day. Each team will explore and decide with their leaders what course of action suits them.
CA ANZ CEO Ainslie van Onselen suggests that during such a busy and intense period, members should consider doing something similar.
R U OK day is a real opportunity for all workplaces to take their own action and observe this day as best they can.
“Within our own organisation activity and workload has been intense following the pandemic and the Executive Team feels that while there has been quite a bit of effort to manage and support wellbeing, we may have reached a point when our actions will speak louder.
“R U OK day is a real opportunity for all workplaces to take their own action and observe this day as best they can.”
The Member Support Centre will be closed on Thursday to enable the member support team to participate in the R U OK day pause. Members are asked to either call on Friday or send an email which will be answered on Friday also.
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) will remain available to Australian and New Zealand members. Call Converge International on 1300 687 327 (Australia) or EAP New Zealand on 0800 327 669 (NZ).
