As a member you can have your say on issues concerning your profession no matter where you live, and regional councils play a key role in this.
Councils also play an important role in CA ANZ’s governance framework. They allow members to provide input on member issues, acting as a valuable conduit of information and views for members in the region as well as local member groups.
On a practical level, regional councils can have a significant impact on governance, with functions that include:
- Providing advice to the Board through the Chartered Accountants ANZ Council and management
- Communicating views on matters of significance to members
- Helping the Board raise and maintain the public profile of Chartered Accountants
- Implementing processes to attract and retain suitable regional council members.
We encourage members to get involved. Applications for appointed positions are open from 19 October 2020 to 6 November 2020 for Australia, New Zealand and Overseas regions.
Appointed positions are approved directly by Regional Councils.
For further information in regard to the role of Regional Councillor please review prior to nominating the Regional Council Position Description and the Regional Council Charter.
