- Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand has announced the appointment of Stephen Walker as President
- Senior Accounting lecturer, Dr Nives Botica-Redmayne, has been newly appointed as New Zealand’s Vice President.
- Deloitte Partner, Peter Rupp, will continue as Vice President for Australia.
Alongside appointing Stephen Walker as President of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the organisation's Council last month also elected two Vice Presidents.
Their new roles begin on 1 January, 2019 and conclude at the end of the year.
The Council re-elected Peter Rupp FCA for a second term as Vice President for Australia. Peter is a Partner at Deloitte in Perth and leads the Deloitte Private Audit team.
He has deep accounting expertise, having worked in the profession for more than 25 years. In this time, he has worked for Deloitte member firms in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
The council also elected New Zealand Council member Nives Botica-Redmayne FCA as the New Zealand Vice President for 2019.
Nives, a senior lecturer in accounting at the Massey Business School in New Zealand, has a wealth of financial reporting and auditing knowledge.
Her main areas of expertise are economics and assurance services and markets. She has also contributed to the development of professional standards, guidance and policies for practicing auditors and regulators in New Zealand.
The Council also elected New Zealand Vice President, Stephen Walker FCA as President of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand for 2019.
