The Ted Delahunty Leadership Award was created to increase the number of Chartered Accountants practicing in provincial New Zealand.

In Brief

  • $10,000 award to a CA provisional member residing and working in regional New Zealand
  • Applicants must demonstrate they will remain in their provincial communities
  • Applications close on 31 May 2020

The Ted Delahunty Trust is offering a $10,000 award to a CA provisional member residing and working in regional New Zealand. Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand is partnering with the trust to support and promote the award.

The late Ted Delahunty was a senior lecturer in the School of Accountancy at Massey University from 1978 to 1986. He established the Ted Delahunty Trust.

The Ted Delahunty Leadership Award was created to increase the number of Chartered Accountants practicing in provincial New Zealand by financially supporting a provisional member that is committed to residing and working in provincial New Zealand (Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury (excluding Christchurch City), Otago and Southland).

It is aimed at provisional members who are currently enrolled and completing the CA Program and ideally approaching or completing the Capstone module – the final module in the CA Program.

Applicants need to demonstrate a clear vision that they will remain and continue to contribute to their communities in their provincial area.

The successful recipient of the Ted Delahunty Leadership Award will receive a once-off payment of $10,000.

Applications close on 31 May 2020 and winners will be announced by 30 June 2020.

CA ANZ's Rural Sector Committee will review the applications and will give the Ted Delahunty Trust a recommendation.
