YCA Panel: The voice of the next generation of Difference Makers

Chartered Accountants ANZ is committed to supporting the next generation of Difference Makers by providing new, young and early-career CAs with a voice on key issues through the Young Chartered Accountants Panel.

The YCA Panels (also known as the Emerging Leaders Group in some regions) are advisory groups of professionals that consist of CAs within the first 5 years of membership, and/or 35 years or under who are connected, passionate and engaged.

Within this uniting role, the individual YCA Panels represent and champion the voice of young CAs in your region to the greater membership – sharing feedback, insights and advice to CA ANZ in order to best support the needs and development of YCAs. They identify initiatives to help CAs hone their professional skills, find greater value in their membership and ultimately become more involved in the community as a CA.

Chris McClelland CA "The young CA community is important to create new connections with like-minded people and to discuss important topics affecting young accountants in their careers. As YCA Chair I want to foster these connections and provide a platform for insightful and educational discussions on these topics."
Chris McCelland CA. 2021, YCA Panel Chair for HK.

They also assist in the planning and development of events relevant to YCAs – from networking, to Strategies for Success (personal and professional development), sports, wellbeing and social fun events. Events like these provide YCAs the opportunity to meet other industry professionals to gain a more diverse perspective and new ideas, and to advance their careers by actively engaging and contributing to the industry.

In the wider membership there’s a lot of energy, positivity and enthusiasm to support members during an important part of their careers, and the YCA Panels provide this opportunity to give back.

Global Network world map
Jamie Waters CA "I think it's important that the YCA panel exists as the needs of our members from all demographics are constantly changing. Having panels specifically targeted for these demographics ensures that we are on the pulse with the changes so it can feed into CAANZ at higher levels."
Jamie Waters CA. 2021 YCA Panel Chair for WA.
