Mentor Exchange: Return to Work

Be part of a rich and rewarding mentor program developed to help CAs who are returning to the workforce or looking to take a career break.

About Mentor Exchange: Return to Work

Chartered Accountants ANZ's Mentor Exchange: Return to Work program connects members who are looking to take a career break or have recently returned to the profession with members who have had a similar experience and are open to sharing their insights and guidance.

Whether returning to work after parental leave, a career break or starting a new job after a redundancy, the program is designed to pair members currently experiencing this transition, with mentors who had personally gone through this experience and transition themselves.

Women in Finance and Economics Scholarship Program*

Chartered Accountants ANZ are partnering with The Financial Planning Association® (FPA®), with support from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet's Office for Women, to provide meaningful equity opportunities for our Australian female members re-entering the workforce.

The Scholarship Program will fund the mentee program fees for eligible participants who can demonstrate sources of disadvantage (eg. re-entering the workforce, financial need or residing in a rural or remote area). To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a female full CA ANZ member; AND
  • Be an Australian citizen or Permanent Resident

When you apply, you will be asked to complete relevant questions in order to be assessed for the Scholarship. Up to 50 Scholarships are available for eligible participants, providing complimentary access to Mentor Exchange.

Online or face-to-face?

Participants can complete program either online or face-to-face. We encourage all members, including regional members, to enjoy the full experience of the program online.

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the program is set up to be flexible to adhere to government health advice.

How are participants matched?

Complete a profile questionnaire and submit with the application.

Matches are based on a mentee's experience and career goals, and a mentor's background. We are looking to pair members based on similar career transition experiences.

How to apply

Applications for the Mentor Exchange program are open and will close 31 October. The program is available to full Chartered Accountants ANZ members in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and UK only.

What is involved?

Confirmed matches will be invited to a program launch in February. Participants will be expected to meet four times until August.

All mentors and mentees will be provided with a guide, action plan and relevant supporting materials. Mentors also have access to a Mentor for the Mentor Service.

At the end of the six-month Mentor Exchange, participants will attend celebratory closing session.

As a voluntary program, it is free for mentors to apply. The application fee for mentees is: A$165 or NZ$175.
