Portrait of a professional
From a young age, Jane instinctively knew the world of business was for her. Following her studies in Boston, she took up senior audit roles for major accounting firms in San Francisco, London and Melbourne, before settling in Adelaide.
Her chairmanship of ANZ Bank South Australia and numerous directorships across varied commercial enterprises, and public, educational and arts bodies are testament to her talents.
In the changing world of commerce, Jane sees a critical need for Chartered Accountants like herself to add value, by bringing new perspectives to the table and mastering the numbers.
“As a Chartered Accountant, you need to be inquisitive and keep yourself informed. But you can’t do it all on your own, so you need a network of people who can help build your knowledge and ideas.”
Jane also uses her well-honed business skills and contacts to assist in the education and art initiatives she sees as an important part of community life in Adelaide.
She’s on the Contemporary Collectors Committee of the Art Gallery of South Australia and helps them fund raise. Her willingness to shave her head for a good cause has raised $30,000 for the Cancer Council of South Australia.
