CA ANZ Governance Appointments - New Zealand

There are a number of groups within the CA ANZ governance structure that represent members in New Zealand, and we’re looking for proactive and enthusiastic members who want to be involved.

In brief

  • Each year in New Zealand we have a number of New Zealand Council and Local Committee positions to fill
  • For 2019 we have one elected and four appointed positions to fill on the New Zealand Council and Local Committee positions in each of the 15 Local Committees across New Zealand– see below for detail on each
  • These processes will run from August to October

New Zealand Council - elected Southern Region position

New Zealand members are represented by a Regional Council comprising 16 members, including three from the South Island.

An election is now underway for one Southern Region Councillor position on the New Zealand Council to commence from 1 January 2020 for a three year term.

Voting is easy and can be done either online or by post. The election is run by independent voting provider electionz.com. All full members in the Southern Region of New Zealand are eligible to vote in this election and will be sent an email/letter to advise of voting details and process.

New Zealand Council – appointed positions

New Zealand members are represented by a Regional Council comprising 12 elected and four appointed Councillors. 

Applications are now being sought for four appointed Councillor positions on the New Zealand Council to commence from 1 January 2020. Each position will have a term of between 1 and 3 years. 

We welcome applications from all full CA, ACA or AT members. We would especially encourage applications from members who represent the diversity of our membership, including Maori, Pasifika and Asian members, members aged under 30, and members in central government, education or not-for-profit sectors, to help us ensure the group is truly representative of our NZ membership. You could expect to commit approx. 75 hours per year to this role across four meetings and other activities. Local Committee positions

Local Committees (LCs) are groups representing New Zealand members in 15 local areas around the country. LCs advise CA ANZ regarding the membership in the area and its particular needs, preferences and issues as these arise and are a key conduit between CA ANZ and its members.  Local Committees comprise between 5 and 10 members in each group.

Applications are now being sought for Local Committee members in all areas to commence from 1 January 2020. Each position will have a term of between 1 and 3 years.

We welcome applications from all full CA, ACA or AT members from all demographics to ensure broad diversity on our LCs that is reflective of the NZ membership.

You could expect to commit approx. 30 hours per year to this role with 6-8 weekly meetings and other LC activities. Please access the application form below if you are interested in applying, along with related information about Local Committee roles.
