CA ANZ Governance Appointments - New Zealand

There are a number of groups within the CA ANZ governance structure that represent members in New Zealand, and we’re looking for proactive and enthusiastic members who want to be involved.

In brief

  • Each year in New Zealand we have a number of New Zealand Council and Local Committee positions to fill
  • For 2019 we have one elected and four appointed positions to fill on the New Zealand Council and Local Committee positions in each of the 15 Local Committees across New Zealand
  • These processes will run from August to December

New Zealand Council - elected Southern Region position

An election was held from 27 September to 18 October for one position on the New Zealand Council representing the Southern Region.

The successful candidate was John Schol CA, from Invercargill. John’s term will commence from 1 January 2020 for three years. Voter participation in this election was 10.66% or 494 votes.

New Zealand Council – appointed positions

New Zealand members are represented by a Regional Council comprising 12 elected and four appointed Councillors.

Applications have now closed for the four appointed Councillor positions on the New Zealand Council to commence from 1 January 2020 for terms of between 1 and 3 years.

The New Zealand Council will approve appointed Councillors at its meeting on 5 December 2019 and the appointees will be announced on this page shortly thereafter.

Local Committee positions

Local Committees (LCs) are groups representing New Zealand members in 15 local areas around the country. LCs advise CA ANZ regarding the membership in the area and its particular needs, preferences and issues as these arise and are a key conduit between CA ANZ and its members.  Local Committees comprise between 5 and 10 members in each group.

Applications have now closed for Local Committee members to commence from 1 January 2020 for terms of between 1 and 3 years. The New Zealand Council will approve appointments to Local Committees at its meeting on 5 December 2019. Appointments will be announced on this page shortly thereafter.
