Cameron Town is a Partner/Director at Silks Audit Chartered Accountants Limited. After completing his BBus and Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting at Open Polytechnic of New Zealand, Cameron started his career working as an audit junior at Silks Chartered Accountants and went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in New Zealand in 2005. Cameron worked as the audit manager from 2005 until 2010. In January 2011 Cameron, as co-owner, established Silks Audit Chartered Accountants which solely specialises in providing external assurance engagements (external auditing) and in 2014 his wife and director Talia took over the practice and now operate in New Plymouth, Taupo, Palmerston North and Whanganui. Cameron has participated in a number of CAANZ professional development courses. Cameron is a current member of the CAANZ Trans-Tasman Audit Advisory Committee since 2017, a member of CAANZ New Zealand National Council from January 2020-December 2022 and a member of the XRB X-WRAP committee since July 2021. Outside of work, Cameron enjoys spending time travelling with his whanau.
