The Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Nominations and Governance Committee considers and makes recommendations to the Council for nominations of new Directors to the Board as a whole.
Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand is seeking to fill a vacancy for a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand based in Australia. Under the current By-Laws Directors are appointed for a three year term and are eligible for re-appointment for one additional term. Terms are based on a calendar year commencing 1 January and concluding 31 December.
The ability to add value and contribute to Board decision-making and oversight are key considerations in the assessment of candidates for Board positions. Those considered are assessed against a range of criteria including background, experience, professional skills and personal qualities. The Nominations and Governance Committee and the Council also consider whether a candidate’s skills and experience will complement the existing Board and whether the candidate has sufficient time available to commit themselves to their responsibilities as a Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Director.
Individuals with the following skills will be considered:
- Demonstrable knowledge in either:
- Preferred skills and experience:
Lifelong learning technology
or current Big 4
High profile ASX corporate experience
High level leadership roles
Government sector – Secretarial or Ministerial department
Previous or current Auditor General
Director or Council member of Higher Education provider
